prices for flights are already so high, but now they want to charge more luggage fees

Luggage charges are being introduced by the famous airlines, British American as well as Virgin.
These two companies would now be charging traveling customers for carrying luggage when they travel. This is a bit preposterous, but what can one do about something such as this?
We have to use these planes in order to travel, no matter what the circumstance, and the fact of the matter is that we need to spend even more money now whenever we are traveling than we would have had to in the past.
